U8.5 football is for players in P3 and P4 who were born between 1st July 2010 and 30th June 2012.  Our head coach for boys football is Martin O’Neill.  New players are always welcome.  You can make contact with the club directly or just come to any Monday night training session.

2019 Season Schedule (Boys)

U8.5 players participate in Club Training every Monday night (from April), Go Games Football, Friendly Games and Club Hosted Tournaments.  Our focus is on player skill development and providing as much football for each player as possible.

Go Games

Go Games are hosted by clubs in rotation on a Saturday morning, usually from 10:30am – 12 noon. There are 11 Go Games events scheduled this year and Donaghmore will host a few of these events.  All players will have full participation in each Go Games event.

Club Hosted Tournaments

We also aim to attend a number of Tournaments over the season.  These tournaments provide more competitive football for our players and they are an opportunity to advance skills as well as have fun.  As tournaments have stricter rules, we can generally only take selected teams to each tournament.  A lot of tournaments are now two team tournaments which means we can invite everyone but for those one team tournaments we do aim to spread the invites so everyone has the same opportunity.

Players will need a packed lunch for tournaments as they tend to be full day events.  This is typically from 9am – 3pm.

Parental Support

Games for your children are only successful with your support.  We appreciate any and all help you provide.  We will also need help in the following ways:

  • Transport to games
  • Helping with hospitality when hosting events by providing some sandwiches and help with making and serving of tea and coffee.
