The under 10s from St Patricks Donaghmore returned to a sunny Co Down last Saturday to defend the KIlcoo Cup, won last year. Following group games against Drumgath, Atticall and a hard fought encounter with Mayobridge, they emerged with three victories ensuring their place in the Cup semi final. Overcoming a battling performance from the hosts, Kilcoo, Donaghmore booked their final berth against their group rivals Mayobridge. A tough game ensued, held in glorious sunshine, demonstrating some excellent skills and no small measure of effort from both sets of players. A strong burst of scoring in the final quarter tipped the contest in favour of the Tyrone boys, resulting in the newly commissioned Eoin McEvoy Memorial trophy returning home with the St Pats players, a great showing backing-up their victory in the same competition last year.
Thanks are due to Eoghan Rua Cill Chua for hosting a great tournament, for their hospitality shown to all their visitors, and especially to the McEvoy family for their support of the event.
